The Garage Gator is fairly easy to install and the unit operates smoothly and reliably. The problem is when you raise the hook bar it is always crooked. I tried different ways to reposition the cable as it wound back onto the drum. Nothing solved the problem. My carpenter was working on my house that day. I asked him to look at it as I knew He had also been a mechanic for many years. He said the drum should have been designed differently so the cable would wind on evenly and not overlap as you raise the hook bar. A traveling cog or taper on the drum may correct the defect. Otherwise a good unit (too bad).
