Designed to support bikes with 12- to 26-inch frames, this 8-1/2-mm wire hook holds up to 50 pounds. I am a big convert to the entire Rubbermaid FastTrack system because of its flexibility. Of course, one can screw in the individual items to the wall without the horizontal track system--but that would defeat the purpose of being able to move them around, which I do often with the addition or subtraction of items to hang. One reviewer cited the flaw in the vertical bike hook as being able to knock it off of the track with the bike tire. Valid point, but I just make sure I am careful hanging the bike tire, and there is no problem. If you would like, there is a screw hole in the hook on the bottom that you could use to secure the hook from moving while still hanging the hook off of the horizontal rail. Another reviewer rightly pointed out that the bottom bike tire will mark up a nice garage wall without something to protect the wall. I went to Home Depot and puchased a small, thin piece of plexiglass (about 6" by 6") for under $4 and used 4 small screws to secure it to the wall where the bottom tire touches the wall. Works and looks great. Finally, I have a 26" trail bike, and found that the bottom of the FastTrack horizonal rail needs to be at least 6 feet from the floor to allow the bike to hang vertically without touching the floor.
